A Mobile QoS Interpretation, Definition and Maintenance Framework for 3 Generation Mobile Systems

چکیده
The Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS), viewed as the wireless access part of a backbone ATMbased broadband services fixed network (B-ISDN), serves the goal for future integrated communications. One of the major issues for the deployment of UMTS high-bandwidth and real-time multimedia applications, is the specification of acceptable Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for mobile users. In wired ATM networks, a traffic contract guarantees the connection the network should provide to a fixed user. Due to the relatively unpredictable nature of user roaming into a non-homogenous system with different wireless cell structures like UMTS, the concept of an initial traffic contract may become meaningless. This paper addresses these issues and proposes an overall framework for the interpretation, definition and adaptation of a mobile QoS for third generation ATM-based systems

Design and Evaluation of a Method for Partitioning and Offloading Web-based Applications in Mobile Systems with Bandwidth Constraints
Computation offloading is known to be among the effective solutions of running heavy applications on smart mobile devices. However, irregular changes of a mobile data rate have direct impacts on code partitioning when offloading is in progress. It is believed that once a rate-adaptive partitioning performed, the replication of such substantial processes due to bandwidth fluctuation can be avoid...

متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

This paper proposes a security framework with quality of service (QoS) mechanisms embedded in a Next Generation Internet architecture to support healthcare infrastructure with mobile wireless sensors. The framework shields the complexity of internetworking with a policy management system to subscribe quality of service and level of security. The framework also hides the intricacy of mobile wire...
متن کاملA SURVEY STUDY OF QoS IN NEXT GENERATION MOBILE NETWORKS
Current trends in communication networks point to an aggregation of all kind of traffic (data, voice, etc) in the same transport technology. The emergence of real-time applications and the widespread use of wireless and mobile devices have generated the need to provide quality of service (QoS) support in wireless and mobile networking environments. QoS present a key problem of today’s mobile ne...
